Starting this week, Saco City Hall to close at 1 p.m. on Fridays during pilot program
Taking a cue from surrounding municipalities with four-day work weeks, the Saco City Hall employees will end work at 1 p.m. on Fridays — but their overall work hours will remain unchanged. City Councilor Nathan Johnston expressed hesitation about the move at the Jan. 29 City Council meeting.

Saco man operating a stolen truck leads police on chase, crashes into cruiser
Ricky Cooper, 39, crashed a stolen Maine Water company truck at intersection of Kennebunk Pond Road and South Waterboro Road after being pursued by law enforcement. After he receives medical care, he'll be arrested on four charges, including eluding an officer, police say.
