Maddie has come to the cemetery every Veterans Day and Memorial Day since she was 3 years old and wanders among the graves, placing pink, red or white roses on a handful of graves of veterans. The Veterans Day holiday honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and marks the anniversary of the end of World War I, which formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
