The barn is an English/French hybrid. It was built with the English-style post-and-beam structure with a French floor plan, which put the doors to the barn on the gable end.

A salvage company called Heritage Restorations bought the barn for $4,000. As of last week, the frame was on a flatbed trailer to the company's storage facility in Montana.
All but the barn's hoist has left the state. The Lake Auburn Watershed Neighborhood Association donated the hoist to the Fryeburg Fair, where it will be on display until Oct. 9.
