Sponsored by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, over one thousand bikes were available for sale, by individuals and dealers, and over 2,000 people were expected to attend, according to Bicycle Coalition of Maine Communications Director Brian Allenby. Proceeds of sales, an estimated $125,000 go back into the pockets of sellers, with a 15% commission going to support the mission of the coalition to make the riding and walking experience better in the state.
With another 250 people already inside, hundreds wait outside the 16th annual Bike Swap at USM in Portland on Sunday.
