The Monmouth home being built using the Ultra-High Performance Building Shell System will have a conventional interior.
A third-floor arched window is seen Thursday in the Ultra-High Performance Building Shell System house being built in Monmouth.
The foam panels that make up part of the walls are still exposed during construction. The house is expected to cost about half as much to heat as a conventionally built home of the same size.
The curved walls, made of structural insulated panels composed of high-density, low-cell foam and supported by laminated curved beams, join at the peak of a Gothic arch on the third floor. Construction is expected to be completed this month.
