The sun was shining and people were in bathing suits though the temperatures weren't quite beach-like during Thursday's dip.

Pete Didisheim of Brunswick drips water off his polar bear hat. Didisheim works for the Natural Resources Council and has participated in the dip in each of the last seven years.
Temperatures were int he high 20s Thursday, and participants quickly got in and out of the water.
