NOV. 21: APeople gather outside Longfellow Elementary School in Portland for a lighting ceremony of a light sculpture which artist Pandora LaCasse made with the help of Longfellow students. The sculptures are similar to those LaCasse created that hang during the holidays in downtown Portland and Deering Oaks Park. The project was proposed by Longfellow third grader, and the artist’s granddaughter, Evelyn LaCasse. Art teacher Emily Serway wrote a grant last spring and the project was funded by the Perloff Family Foundation.
