Dr. Michael Duffy and his wife, Jessica, also support legalization, but temper their enthusiasm. “As a citizen and a physician, I have mixed feelings about it,” he says. “If we could entrust that all people were using the substance responsibly, I think it would be terrific.”

South Portland resident Daniel Whitmore supports a yes vote to legalize the use of marijuana in the southern Maine municipality.

Dave Owen supports legalization, but concedes, “It’s a messy situation for cities or states to take the lead. ... I’m not sure I want to wish that on my town.”
