Betty Stetson turned 100 years old on March 21. Her son Maurice Nelson Jr. travelled from Florida for her surprise birthday party.

Decorations at the birthday party for 100-year old Betty Stetson featured buttons with her photo. Her photo and a Happy Birthday greeting will be on Fenway's giant screen on Opening Day at Fenway Park. She's been a lifelong fan.

Betty, left, and her sister Anna graduated from Smith Academy in Hatfield, MA. in 1935. She worked as a tobacco farmer who sorted leaves for one dollar a day when she was growing up. For many years she lived in Newport, NH where she was part of the Congregational Church choir and was a communion bread maker.
Betty was the first patient at Maine Medical to receive a heart valve transplant at the age of 93, and she's still dancing.
