Artist Rachael Eastman takes photos on her smartphone at sunrise as fog burns off at Old Orchard Beach. Eastman goes to the beach before dawn almost every day to take in the sunrise and uses the experience to inspire her paintings.

“As a painter, it’s never not worth coming for,” Eastman says of her visits to the beach. “It’s always beautiful.”
