Press Herald staff writer Gillian Graham in her kitchen surrounded by her collection of vintage Pyrex. While searching for Pyrex at a yard sale, Graham found a couple boxes of old recipe cards and has tried out a few of the vintage recipes.
Some of the old recipe cards and the box they were found in. The earliest dated card is from 1958.
Boston Casserole featured mini hot dogs floating in a pan of baked beans.
Graham makes Clam Casserole in her kitchen in Buxton.
Clam Casserole is made from canned minced clams, eggs, sugar, pepper, margarine and crushed crackers.
Graham has a feeling that the woman who made the recipe cards lived in the area because of the many classic New England recipes.
Graham cuts a piece of Nettie's Chocolate Cake in her kitchen. Graham found a couple boxes of old recipe cards at a yard sale about two years ago and tried some of the recipes.
