Why are you running?

I’m running to continue the good work that has happened across the county. New families are moving to Franklin county for our natural beauty and our way of life. Access to the internet has now allowed many professionals to work from home.

Top three priorities

1) Control spending while continuing to allow Franklin County to grow and provide necessary services.

2) Attract new businesses to the county that will fit into our way of life. Build the tax base!

3) Develop daycare centers. Workers are needed everywhere and childcare is severely lacking, preventing parents from entering the workforce.

If you could change one thing about how Franklin County functions, what would it be and why?

The statutes that govern the county are outdated and quite often contradictory. The Legislature is the only body that can change these.

What is the biggest challenge facing Franklin County? The biggest opportunity?

Lack of jail funding from the state has put that burden on the local taxpayers. These are unfunded mandates from the state that they continue to under fund. Food insecurity continues to be present throughout the county. Our biggest opportunity is exploring different ways to provide regional jail services.

Do you support more development – i.e. more housing construction and business building in your county? Why or why not?

I support more “thoughtful development.” There is a serious need for affordable housing throughout the county. The same for businesses, which should be thoughtful in how they fit into a community.
