Top three priorities
Affordability, infrastructure and education.
Why are you running?
I am running for Town Council because I believe we can invest in our community’s future without overburdening the families who call Yarmouth home. Our schools deserve strong funding, and our taxpayers deserve accountability. We also face critical infrastructure needs; systems can’t wait. The challenges here require strategic thinking, humility, careful attention to detail and creative solutions that develop every option space. I’m built for work and ready on day one.
What is the biggest challenge facing your community? The biggest opportunity?
The biggest challenge is affordability. The biggest opportunity is to strengthen community here.
If you could change one thing about how your community functions, what would it be and why?
I would want to clearly understand what we are paying for at each level of government. I have reviewed several years of budgets and portions are so acronym-heavy, a non-expert cannot understand them at a glance. The Town Council needs to be more accessible than that. I’d want to improve how the town council communicates; this is important because if we allow communication to be dense, or vague, or to require insider knowledge — it’s not a process everyone can participate in.
Do you support more development in your community? Why or why not?
I support more high quality small businesses in our town village because active street life is the lifeblood of a walkable community. Local businesses have a robust economic multiplier. Our little downtown — with a mix of housing types and meaningful public spaces — improves quality of life for people, as do paths. It is essential to ensure that our infrastructure supports safe streets, active lifestyles and affordable housing.
