Bachelor degree
Previous campaigns and elected office(s) held
This is my first time running for an elected office.
Top three priorities
1. Understanding and digesting how test scores in the school system can be used to improve the system.
2. Using my financial expertise to help other board members understand governmental financing.
3. Bringing the school system into the future.
Why are you running?
I was a member of the Budget Advisory Committee and felt that the community members on that board need to have more of role than just being an advisory committee. I feel that the school system needs to make some changes.
What is the biggest challenge facing your community? The biggest opportunity?
Taxes in our town and neighboring towns have been rising at a very high rate, and understanding the needs of our biggest expense and how we can control it or change it will better put us in a financial situation. With my extensive governmental financial background, I can bring insight to other board members.
If you could change one thing about how your local schools function, what would it be and why?
With dropping student counts, overhauling classroom sizes or length of school might help us control costs.
