I bring a thoughtful, people-first approach to leadership, working across differences so every resident, regardless of background or beliefs, feels heard, respected and represented. From my experience on Biddeford\u2019s city council, I understand how county budget decisions affect local services and property taxes, and I will lead with transparency, accountability and care to deliver responsible decisions that strengthen our communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-e44e021b wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\">Top three priorities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-left is-style-short-red\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My top priorities are to listen and learn by gaining a clear understanding of the role and decision making responsibilities of the County Commission, to help residents better understand what the commission does and how county government affects their day to day experiences and to actively improve accessibility by being responsive, communicating clearly and helping residents navigate meetings, information and opportunities to engage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-e44e021b wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\">If you could change one thing about how York County functions, what would it be and why?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-left is-style-short-red\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One change I would make is improving how residents engage with and understand the county commission. The commission\u2019s work is important and often complex, but it can be hard for the public to follow or participate. Strengthening accessibility and clear communication would help residents better understand county government, build trust and support more meaningful civic engagement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-e44e021b wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\">What is the biggest challenge facing your county? The biggest opportunity?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-left is-style-short-red\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Biddeford, Arundel, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and York county share challenges related to housing, workforce needs and rising service costs. The York County Commission plays an important role in addressing countywide issues and makes fiscal decisions that directly impact municipal budgets and taxpayers. Its greatest opportunity is to help with aligning regional efforts, improve public understanding and strengthen communication and cooperation<br>across communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-e44e021b wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\">Do you support more development \u2013 i.e. more housing construction and business building in your county? Why or why not?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-left is-style-short-red\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, if it makes sense. Development can be positive when it is intentional and well managed. Targeted housing can ease affordability pressures, support local workers and help communities, while business growth strengthens economies. Development should match infrastructure capacity, protect environmental resources and avoid displacement.
