Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Brown

PORTLAND – Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Brown, 84, of Portland, passed away on March 2, 2023 at Maine Medical Center, after a long history of heart illness.

Betty was born on Nov. 15, 1938, a daughter of Libro and Theresa Feroci. In January of 1956, Betty married the love of her life, Myron Leroy Brown Jr., where they raised four wonderful children in Portland. Myron and Betty were married for nearly 59 years and they frequently enjoyed taking long drives to see the state.

Elizabeth spent 21 years as a CNA for elderly residents at several healthcare facilities in Portland.

Betty was a wonderful, Italian cook and care-taker. Everyone in their family would always look forward to Betty’s famous meatballs and sauce and fudge brownies at all the family events. She always kept a candy bowl out in her home for her grandchildren and would always have a sandwich ready in case any visitors were hungry.

Betty was meticulous; her home was always in order; her pants were always pleated and she never missed a hair appointment. Her favorite hobby was shopping and going to lunch.

Betty is survived by her four children, Janet Legassie of Florida, Sheila Bellefontaine of Standish, Theresa Mussoline of Windham, and Jonathan Brown of Auburn. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Bryan Bellefontaine, Breanna Bellefontaine-Krupski, Arianna Mellado, Guiliana Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Lainey Mellado and Gabriel Krupski.

Private services will be held on Thursday, March 9.
