Elected several times to the Standish planning board, serving a total of 18 consecutive years; elected twice to the Town Council. Due to term limits, I could only serve two consecutive terms.

Top three priorities

1. The town needs to be more welcoming to businesses. There are too many unneeded requirements that stifle new business development.

2. Food insecurity

3. Making town government as efficient as possible and communicating to our citizens so there is transparency.

Why are you running?

In my prior service to the town, I was the voice of reason. I had no personal agenda, as it appears some have had in the past. I have always been business-friendly and fiscally responsible to keep our millage rate as low as possible while still having quality town services. My decisions have always taken into consideration the residents of Standish and how they affect them financially.

If you could change one thing about how your community functions, what would it be and why?

Making town government as efficient as possible and communicating to our citizens to ensure transparency.

Do you support more development in your community? Why or why not?

Residential housing developments need to be monitored; too many housing units too fast could put a financial burden on town services and the school system. Affordable housing should be a priority.
