Voters in Canaan, Cornville, Mercer, Norridgewock, Skowhegan and Smithfield will decide on a proposed change to the Maine School Administrative District 54 cost-sharing formula that applies to the assessment of additional local costs.

Currently, each town pays its share of additional local costs based on its state-determined property valuation. The proposal would change that to a weighted share, based on 90% valuation and 10% pupil count for two years, then 80% valuation and 20% pupil count after that.
