SCARBOROUGH — Winterfest has been postponed to Saturday, Feb. 13.
The town announced Tuesday morning that, after the winter storm Monday night caused “poor ice conditions,” the seasonal event originally scheduled for this Saturday, Jan. 16, would be rescheduled.
The event will run from 1-5:30 p.m. at the municipal ice rink and Wentworth Field, at 259 Route 1.
Family friendly activities and games, such as ice skating and wagon rides, will take place throughout the afternoon. Concessions will be available, along with free hot chocolate and s’mores. The event will culminate with crowning the Winterfest king, queen and royal family, followed by a fireworks show.
Sunday, Feb. 14, is the new make-up day if another weather-related delay is necessary.
