The Windham Human Services Advisory Committee (WHSAC), which coordinates with local churches and service organizations to provide qualifying Windham residents holiday food baskets and gifts for children, currently needs cash donations for their holiday efforts.

Checks may be made to WHSAC, 8 School Road, Windham, ME 04062. A $35 donation will purchase a food basket for a family of four. However, donations in any amount are greatly appreciated.

Nonperishable food and Christmas toys may be left at the Family Resource Center (beside the Public Safety Building) Mondays 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or Fridays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Toys should be dropped off by Friday, Dec. 9.

Thanksgiving food baskets will be distributed Monday, Nov. 21; Christmas toys on Saturday, Dec. 10; and Christmas food baskets on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

If you have questions, or would like to “adopt” a family for a holiday, please contact Barbara Hall at 892-6859.
