WINDHAM — Victoria Lux and Katie McCrum scored 11 points apiece as visiting Thornton Academy rolled past Windham 40-21 in an SMAA girls basketball game on Tuesday.

The Trojans (10-1) duo outscored the Eagles by themselves, and Lux added 15 rebounds for a double-double.

Sadie Nelson scored a team high 10 points for the Eagles (3-8), including seven in the third quarter when Windham outscored Thornton 11-9.

But the Trojans defense held the Eagles to just 10 points total in the other three quarters, taking a 23-8 lead at halftime and holding Windham to just a Luis Sbardella basket in the fourth.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 62, KENTS HILL 26

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Host Old Orchard Beach had three players score in double figures as the Seagulls soared past Kents Hill 62-26 in a Western Class C girls basketball game on Tuesday.

Freshman Brianna Plante scored a team-high 15 points for the Seagulls (7-1), while Abby Dubois and Peyton Feitz scored 10 points apiece.

Mackenzie Rague and Haley Plante each dished out five assists.

SOUTH PORTLAND 69, BIDDEFORD 53

SOUTH PORTLAND — Visiting Biddeford (1-10) had its best offensive output of the new year but it wasn’t enough against South Portland (9-2), as the Red Riots got 14 points apiece from Jaren Muller and Matt Pelletier in a 69-53 SMAA boys basketball victory on Tuesday.

Jason Vadnais scored 14 points as well to lead the Tigers, who also got 13 points from Patrick Pearl and 10 from Austin Dutremble.

Biddeford made seven 3-pointers in the loss.
