BAR HARBOR — It looks like a cool and possible rainy day for the College of the Atlantic’s 21st annual swim from Bar Island to mark the start of classes.
This is the 40th year of classes for the Bar Harbor school. Since the annual swim of about one-third of a mile from Bar Island began, the numbers of participants has been growing steadily. Last year’s was the largest yet with 118 swimmers.
The National Weather Service predicted patchy fog and a 40 percent chance of showers in that area for today’s afternoon swim.
