BUXTON — The reward offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators responsible for invading the home of a local woman, beating her and tying her up has been increased fourfold.
The reward is now at $2,500, up from an initial $500 offering, said Buxton Police Chief Michael Grovo, in a brief statement issued late Friday.
The woman, who was not identified by police ”“ though her photograph was released ”“ was assaulted and tied up by two men and a woman, who reportedly left her on the floor after taking some money and fleeing the residence on April 11.
The photograph shows bloody cuts and abrasions to the side of the victim’s face and on her temple, above her eye.
“The Buxton Police Department is working hard following up information that we have been given, along with being assisted by Scarborough Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, and the Gorham Police Department,” said Grovo in a prepared statement.
Anyone with information should contact the Buxton Police Department at the following number; 929-5151 or 929-6612.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
