SANFORD — Springvale Nurseries is hosting Master Beekeeper Brian Pride from Bee Pride of Lebanon on March 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 1280 Main St.
This is a one-session overview of beekeeping with brief presentations about types of bees for the backyard beekeeper, the equipment necessary to establish hives, a discussion of pests and other threats that beekeepers must address as well as a review of products of the hive. It is an interactive program, intended to last two hours, with time allotted for demonstrations, questions and answers.
