WEST BATH
The Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department continues to investigate the circumstances that led to arrest of a Westport Island man for burglary and theft on Sunday.
Nicholas Gallello, 32, of Westport Island, was stopped on Court Street in Bath on Sunday at around 1:30 p.m. by Deputy Matt Shiers. Deputy Chief Brett Strout said Shiers realized Gallello was in possession of items he shouldn’t have had and “from doing some follow up with the owners of the property found in the car, determined that Gallello had committed burglary and theft.”
Gallello was arrested and charged with burglary and theft as well as violation of conditions of release.
The sheriff ’s department continues to investigate incidents reported on Foster’s Point Road in West Bath, Strout said, and additional charges may be pending.
