BRUNSWICK
Harpswell Road along Route 123 will be closed for seven hours Sunday between Bath Road and Bowker Street, the Brunswick Public Works Department announced Wednesday.
The closure is expected to start at 6 a.m. and the road to reopen at 1 p.m., to allow crews to connect the new water main on College Street to the existing water mains along Route 123.
Northbound Route 123 traffic will be detoured at Longfellow Avenue to Maine Street and southbound Route 123 traffic will be detoured west on Bath Road to Maine Street and then back to Route 123 by Longfellow Avenue.
Motorists are asked to seek an alternate route or allow extra time for possible delays during the closure. The road will reopen to two-way traffic by 1 p.m. on Sunday.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
