In reference to your story on the rare funnel cloud sighting in Lisbon, my husband and I saw it in Topsham, too (same time/same day). It seemed to be hovering over our neighborhood amidst a darkened sky and a blanket of threatening clouds— a very scary and startling sight. We could see the funnel tip clearly rotating. We hurried to get inside, but were so fascinated by the phenomenon that we also rushed to find our video camera to record it. Alas, the video capacity was full and we were unable to capture it. Upon hearing our story, our family smiled in disbelief (”Sounds like a fish story — the one that got away,” they laughed). When I picked up The Times Record this afternoon, I was delighted to see our “fish story” validated!
