TOPSHAM — Merrymeeting Adult Education is offering two new English Language Learners classes starting March 27. Grammar and Reading will be offered on Mondays from 9-10:30 a.m. and on Wednesdays from 9a.m.to noon. Students will learn sentence structure, spelling, reading comprehension and writing. American English Accent will be offered on Mondays from 10:35 a.m. to noon, where students will learn to overcome common pronunciation problems: troublesome vowel sounds, stressed and unstressed syllables, and timing or flow of spoken American English. These courses will be held at the adult education center at 35 Republic Avenue in Topsham.
