TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School girls basketball team held rival Brunswick scoreless in the second quarter and rolled to a 54-20 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory in a “Battle of the Bridge” matchup on Thursday.

The Eagles (15-3) have won five straight, and will likely be the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Maine Class A quarterfinals at the Augusta Civic Center, which begin on Feb. 15, while the Dragons finished 2- 16.

Mt. Ararat led 14-5 after a quarter, but outscored Brunswick 16-0 in the second for a 30-5 advantage at the half. The Dragons battled in the third quarter, holding a 13-11 scoring advantage, but the Eagles pulled away in the final frame.

Mallory Nelson led Mt. Ararat with 24 points on 11-of- 13 shooting from the field and pulled down nine rebounds, picked up five steals and dished out three assists. Caitlin LaFountain added 19 points and six rebounds. The Eagles were 21 of 46 (45 percent) from the field and made 10 of 15 at the charity stripe. Mt. Ararat held a 33-22 advantage on the boards.

Brunswick shot just 16 percent (eight of 49) and missed on all four free-throw attempts. Lyse Henshaw led the Dragons on the scoresheet with seven points.

Seniors Jessica Libby, Lauren Carlton and Leah Andreotti played their final game for the Dragons.

LISBON 39

Faith Grady exploded for 24 points and Colleen Pomerleau added 19 as the Saints ended Lisbon’s season in Mountain Valley Conference play at Lisbon Falls.

Tied 8-8 after a quarter, the Greyhounds took a 20-19 advantage to the half. But, St. Dom’s outscored the hosts 15- 6 in the third quarter to claim a 34-26 lead and pulled away in the fourth.

Lisbon, which concluded the season with a 5-13 mark, received 14 points from Denise Thomas and Bree Sautter.

Seniors Thomas, Bailey Madore, Elyssa Hubert, Jordan Kates, Sarah Stone and Chantel Poland were honored prior to their last game at Lisbon.

BOOTHBAY 64

The host Seahawks jumped out to a 20-5 first-quarter lead and pulled away for an MVC win.

Boothbay (16-2) led 32-13 at the half and 52-25 after 24 minutes.

Allison Crocker scored a game-high 16 points for the victors, while Sarah Caron and Abby McLellan each chipped in 13.

Kasey Cromwell paced Wiscasset (4-14) with 13 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Lone Wolverines senior Heidi Pinkham had nine points, while Alecia Faulkingham added six.

Boothbay was 12 of 19 from the foul line and Wiscasset seven of 14.

The Falcons made it six straight Western Maine Conference wins as Nina Davenport scored 18 points to give Freeport a 12-6 record.

Freeport, which forced 26 turnovers, led 11-7, 18-13 and 32-23 at the quarter breaks. Leigh Wyman nailed three treys to finish with 12 points, while Jocelyn Davee chipped in six.

Christina Colman led Old Orchard Beach (13-5) with 13 points, Abby Dubois had 10 and Daphne Allen nine. Colman and Allen both hit three 3-pointers.

MORSE 55
LEAVITT 52

The host Hornets rallied from a 15-point deficit after three quarters, but the Shipbuilders held on for a KVAC Class B win at Turner.

Morse, which finished 5-13 after ending a seven-game losing skid, built its lead throughout. The Shipbuilders held a slim 16-15 advantage after a quarter, but made it 27- 21 at the half and 44-29 after three.

Leavitt held a 23-11 scoring advantage in the final frame.

Seniors Megan Hixon and Sadia Crosby both had 15 points in their final game to pace Morse. Senior Hannah Rossetti also played in her final contest for the Shipbuilders. Isabelle Paulus added seven points, and Emma Harrington and Leia Graves six points each.

Leavitt’s (13-5) Jenna Cote picked up a game-high 19 points and Meagan Dow had 18.

KENTS HILL 33
RICHMOND 53

Alyssa Pearson had 17 points as the Bobcats concluded the regular season with a 14-3 record.

Sarah Grenier led Kents Hill with a game-high 18 points.
