SOUTH PORTLAND — The Southern Maine Community College women’s basketball team used a balanced attack in an 86-58 Yankee Small College Conference win over UMaine- Augusta on Wednesday.
The Seawolves opened the second half with a 27-9 run to take control.
SMCC’s Tianna Burton of Brunswick nailed a late 3- pointer to give the hosts a 20- point halftime lead, 42-22, and the early second-half run put the Seawolves in full control.
Former Richmond High School standout Jamie Plummer had a double-double for UMaine-Augusta, posting a game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds.
Burton paced the victors with 16 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals.
