Election time is coming, so I have been evaluating the three candidates for governor to see who deserves my vote.

I am a firm believer that you are known by the company you keep. Eliot Cutler’s company, the law firm of Akin Gump is an abettor of American manufacturers’ outsourcing jobs to China. Cutler helped ship millions of jobs of his fellow Americans out of the country.

Do I really want to vote for someone who would help pauperize millions of his fellow citizens? I think not.

Paul LePage is well known for his lack of savoir faire and common courtesy, but for my evaluation of his qualifications for governor, I point to his recent trip to Africa. Upon his return he pointed to Morocco as an economy that is friendly to business and should be a model for Maine. For Gov LePage’s information, the minimum wage in Morocco is $2.00 an hour. If that is what Gov. LePage thinks of as an appropriate example for Maine to follow, I want nothing to do with him.

That leaves Mike Michaud, a decent, experienced, considerate and thoughtful man. He may not be perfect but he’s miles better than his two opponents.
