AUGUSTA — Michael Flynn, direction of nutritional services at the Hyde School in Bath and Maine certified executive chef will be giving a presentation on “Food as Medicine” at the 4th Annual Celebrity Chef Challenge on Sept. 14, at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath. Wendy Shaw, a Spectrum Generations Meals on Wheels Volunteer Driver, will be giving a speech on her personal experiences with Meals on Wheels and the importance of this program in the community.

The event is formatted as a cooking competition between four chefs from Maine. This year’s participating chefs are Justin Bard from Riverside Farm Markets in Oakland, Nick Krunkkala from Liquid Riot in Portland, Dave Mallari from The Sinful Kitchen, Salty Sally’s Bar & Grille and the Pig Kahuna in Portland. A fourth “mystery” chef — a current executive chef for a catering company in Hallowell — will be revealed on the night of the event.
