PORTLAND
The Binghamton Mets (16- 19) used an offensive onslaught and defeated the Sea Dogs (13- 25), 8-1 in the Eastern League finale of the five-game series on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field.
Binghamton scored four times in the first inning off of Ty Buttrey, who allowed seven hits and walked two in his lone inning of the outing. Dominic Smith, Xorge Carrillo, Phillip Evans and Maikis De La Cruz each had an RBI single in the frame.
