I am writing in support of Ralph Tucker’s candidacy to become the Democratic Party’s nominee for the Maine House of Representatives. I have known him well for over 30 years. In addition to being a lawyer for working class people, he has significant public administrative experience as head of the Maine Workers’ Compensation Commission and he has already represented Brunswick capably on the town council and school board. One thing that is not widely known about Ralph Tucker is his deep appreciation for the Maine environment. He and his youngest son, Abe, together climbed every peak over 4,000 feet high in the White Mountains. He is an avid outdoorsman and skilled marksman, who is occasionally not averse to publishing photos of his feathered quarry on Facebook. Importantly, Ralph Tucker is a ‘people person’, who will be able to work well with those of different points of view, to forge reasonable compromises in the public’s best interest. Please consider voting for him in the upcoming primary election.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
