Dr. Dianne Fallon, author of “Pioneer on a Mountain Bike: Eight Days Through Early American History,” will present a slideshow and reading of the book that combines bicycle travel with early American history as the author uncovers the history beneath the highway on a route from upstate New York to Maine. Seacoast-specific history includes a discussion of the 1735 diphtheria epidemic that killed hundreds of children and the rise and fall of the Pepperell dynasty.
