HOMOSASSA, Fla. – Ranee Joanne Berry, 77, of Homosassa, Fla., passed away on May 15, 2026, after a swift but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on April 6, 1949, in Portland, Maine, Ranee lived a life full of creativity, warmth, and love that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Ranee found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She spent her working days at a school for children with disabilities.

She loved watching and listening to the birds, spoiling her beloved dog Sam, and caring for many lucky stray cats who found their way to her door. She enjoyed playing word games and Yahtzee with her dear friend, Bob. Ranee had a creative soul and enjoyed mastering the arts of stained glass, basket weaving, and jewelry making.

Ranee was preceded in death by her sisters Linda Marsh, Julie Carey, Corrine Cook, and Joyce Frisco, and her brother, Michael Frisco.

She leaves behind many nieces and nephews; and some very dear friends who will carry her memory forward in their hearts.

Ranee was loved. She is at peace now, reunited with her sisters and brother. As the saying goes, “A life that touches others will go on forever,” and Ranee’s certainly will.

Per Ranee’s wishes there will not be any memorial services.

To honor her memory you might play a game of Yahtzee, enjoy the birds, or consider making a small donation to an animal shelter or children’s charity in her name.
