Dana Paul Hurtubise
PORTLAND – Dana Paul Hurtubise, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Memorial Day evening following a battle with kidney cancer. Born in Bath, on March 18, 1953, he was the son of the late Joseph “Leo” and Philomena “Eddie” (Taes) Hurtubise.
A lifelong Mainer, Dana graduated from Deering High School and went on to earn degrees in nursing and respiratory therapy. His career in healthcare spanned decades and included service as a respiratory therapist, critical care nurse, and Corpsman in the United States Naval Reserve.
Dana embraced life with curiosity and adventure. An avid traveler, he explored much of the world and extensively traveled throughout the United States, often by motorcycle. He enjoyed photography, gardening, music, and home projects. He especially cherished time spent with family and friends at the camp he and his wife built together in Saint Albans.
Dana will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, adventurous spirit, and ability to make friends wherever he went.
Dana was predeceased by his daughter, Alyssa Foss; sister, Moncia Taes; sister-in-law, Roxanne Clifford. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debra Diamond; daughters, Danielle and her husband Nicholas Scarmazzo, and Erika and her fiancé, Cole Chesbro; son, Ethan Foss; grandsons, Jack and Jude Foss; brother, Leo Hurtubise; close nephew, Alexander Hurtubise, and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 2-6 p.m., on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, a Service with military honors will begin at 4 p.m., at the new Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral, Cremation, and Gathering Center, 300 Allen Ave., Portland.
