Virginia “Ginny” P. Stevens Harrigan Aubin

BRUNSWICK – Virginia “Ginny” P. Stevens Harrigan Aubin, 85, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully at home, after a hard fought battle with cancer, on Sunday Nov. 30, 2025, surrounded by family.

She was born in Vassalboro, on Aug. 31, 1940, the daughter of Virgil and Gladys (Smith) Stevens. She grew up in the Bath area and graduated from Morse High School and then the Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing, in 1962. While in nursing school she met and married her first husband, John Harrigan, together they raised four children in Bath. Later in life Ginny found love again and married her second husband Donald Aubin, in 2002. They lived in Florida and travelled to Maine for summers, spending time with family and friends. Ginny worked as a nurse, both full time and then on-call until she was 75. Many of those years at Bath Memorial Hospital and then Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick. In addition to her love of nursing and being a mother, wife and sister, she found joy in drawing, gardening and spending time with her friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald (2017); her parents, Virgil and Gladys; and an older brother Dick Billings. She is survived by her daughters, Leslee Pierce and husband Jeff, of Saco, Johnna Sheaffer and husband Lester, of Whitefield, Anne Harrigan and partner Mike Lagasse, of Bath, her Son Lee Harrigan, of Portland; her grandchildren, Brett Pierce, Chase Pierce and Kayla Rattleff; her great-grandson Carter Rattleff; her sister Louis Boulware and husband Darryel, of Newington, Conn., her sister Lee Graham and husband Bill, of Mesa, Arizona, her brother Jerry Stevens and wife Joan of Lisbon; several nieces and nephews, three stepchildren and several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life to be held at Pejepscot Terrace in Brunswick, at 1 p.m., on Saturday June 20.
