Robert Andrew Genthner

SEBAGO – Robert Andrew Genthner, 94, of Sebago, formerly of Biddeford, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026. Born to Grace Biron and Robert Frederick George Genthner, Robert was known for his strong will, sense of humor, and loving nature. He lived a long life filled with family, friendship, and adventure. Robert worked as a pipefitter with Phoenix Welding and was a proud, longtime member of Union Local 716, continuing in his trade until the age of 87. He took great pride in his work and the lifelong friendships he built throughout his career. He was also a proud member of the Freemasons. Robert valued fellowship, tradition, and the bonds he formed within his community. With a lifelong love of motorcycles, Robert was proud to be recognized as the oldest rider. He also enjoyed Westerns and spent many peaceful years in Arizona, where he appreciated the western lifestyle and time with his horses. He was a familiar face at Bentley’s, Skip’s, and The Tavern, where he enjoyed sharing stories with friends. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Sherry Garnett; his grandchildren, Gary Genthner Jr., Janessa Gaston, Ariana Gaston, Lorenzo Garnett Gaston, Sherry Garnett Jr., and Eddie Garnett; his great-granddaughter, Emma Perkins; and many extended family members and friends. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Kathryn Genthner; his children, Gary Genthner and Kelly Jean Genthner; his parents; and his siblings, Raymond Genthner and Marlene D. Genthner. He will be remembered for his independent spirit, strong work ethic, and love for those around him. Your engine may be silent, but your spirit still rides with us; Forever loved and forever remembered. Services: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME. A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home in the adjacent chapel. Interment will be held privately at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland, ME.
