How did last season end: lost to Biddeford in the first round of the playoffs.

Key Newcomers: Riley Graves, Helen Libby, Kelsey Babb, Letha Works.
Key Concerns: “Team chemistry is a concern and we are probably going to have to see how we do at the post.”
Coach’s Comment: “We’re going to look to run and play pressure defense. We have a good core of experienced players that have a lot of playing time.”
Boys Basketball
Kevin Millington, seventh season.
Winter 2004-05 Record: 5-13
Key Returning Players: Seniors Will Clemmer, Derek Hanrahan, Jordan Scanlon, Matt Sherburne, Jeremy Egan, Collin Atkinson, Ben Hodge, Keith Herrick and Kyle MacQuestion and juniors Raibonne Charles, T.J. Tandberg and Zach Cantor.
Key Newcomers: Juniors Dylan O’Connor, Ben Floyd and Nick Derice and sophomore Travis Guerrette.
Key Concerns: “Learning how to win after a difficult season and team chemistry. Many guys deserve to play. Trying to find the mix will be a challenge.”
Coach’s Comment: “I like our team, but it will be a difficult journey. We have a tough early schedule (Cheverus, South Portland, Portland, Deering before the Christmas break). We’re a senior-dominated team with a lot of experience and that should help. Hard work in the off season should help us compete for a playoff spot.”
Wrestling
Chris O’Brien, third season.
Winter 2004-05 Record: 7-8
Key Returning wrestlers: Tony Kostopoulos, Justin Woodbury, Matt Larrivee, Chris Staples, Billy Hustus, Jessica Irish
Key Newcomers: Dan Bickford, Matt Hagemayer, Navee Ahmady,
Key concerns: Lack of depth.
Coach’s Comment : “We’re hoping to get a few more recruits out this season to fill the weight classes and hopefully have winning season.”
Boys Indoor Track
Paula Pock, second season.
Key Returning athletes: Josh Leeman, Travis Cook, Justin Mohn, Nick Kimball, Brian Hammond,
Key Newcomers: Shawn Archibald, Eric O’Connor,
Key concerns: “We only have 15 kids, so its tough competing with teams that have 50 or 60 athletes.”
Coach’s Comment: We’re going to be a lot stronger in the sprints this year, and we have some good young high jumpers up from the middle school. We’ll be more versatile and will be able to move people around in different events this year.”
Girls Indoor Track
Angie Lally, first season.
Key Returning athletes: Ashley Harnden, Danielle Smith, Kristen Varney, Mary Feeney, Laura Gresik, Rene LeClaire, Kate McPherson, Caitlin O’Brien, Kristen Stewart, Vanessa Rallis, Stephanie Shepard, Jordan Pennels.
Key Newcomers: Cerise Caiazzo, Kayla Phinney, Lindsay Plante.
Coach’s Comment: “It will be exciting to watch this young team this season because I’m not sure what to expect. Our team goals are to have fun, display good sportsmanship, improve as individuals, improve as a team and to maintain a positive attitude. We hope reaching for these goals will lead us to success on the track.”
Alpine skiing
Calvin Kendall, Seventh season.
Winter 2004-05 result: Fifth in the state in Class A.
Key returning skiers: Joe Jacques, Casey Kenahan, Brendan Koza, Andrew McFarland, Nathaniel Butler, Tyler Hjelm, Alex King, David Bracket, Tyler Young and Nick Defore.
Key newcomers: Rhiannon Adams, Denny Cobb, Sam Harmon, Casey Faley, Justin Lagassey and Ryan McCarthy.
Key concern: “Even though we’re a large school and competing in Division A, we have a small Alpine team, even though it’s the biggest group we’ve had here.”
Coach’s comment: “This is a unique group. The seniors have been together for a while so there is a lot of camaraderie. We have strong parent support and the boosters help us out quite a bit. We have some great younger skiers and kids coming up from the middle school, so we are building. The program’s growing every year.”
Cheerleading:
Cherie Scanlon, Seventh season.
Winter 2004-05 result: Fourth in the regional competition; qualified for the state championships.
Key Returning cheerleaders: Elyse Robichaud, Danielle Bennett, Candy Arno, Whitney Adams, Caitlyn Thiboutot.
Key newcomers: Carla Dias, Amy Rousse, Laura Sanborn, Hillary Wescott, Karly Ueda
Coach’s Comment: “My team is small (in numbers) compared to other teams, but they have the talent to make up for it. And the chemistry is just right. They all have the same goals and want to return to the states.”
