Cracks in the Scarborough Public Library’s foundation reveal an unsolved mystery. Will the clues lead to the discovery of a man reported missing five years ago? And what about the curious disappearance of a piece of library art? Is Maxie, the library’s missing gerbil, guilty or innocent of this crime caper?
Children are invited to take on the character roles needed to solve these “crimes” in two Mystery Theater presentations at the Scarborough Public Library.
“Crime Caper” Mystery Theater for children Grades 3-6 will be offered on Tuesday, July 31, at 2 p.m. Young detectives will move through the library and gather evidence needed to reveal who stole the artwork created by children’s author and illustrator Mark Teague. Refreshments will be served, including a mysterious liquid concoction.
Teens Grades 6 and up are invited to gather on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 5:30 p.m. for pizza, followed by “Cracks in the Wall” Mystery Theater. Sleuths will analyze clues discovered in the library during the recent repair of a crack in the foundation. Will their conclusions reveal foul play or will the evidence be circumstantial?
To register for these programs, stop by the library or call 883-4723.
