PORTLAND — Alice E. Kelly, 93, died May 15 surrounded by family after a brief illness.

She was born in Falmouth on Dec. 17, 1915, and later graduated from Scarborough High School in 1935.

In 1938, she graduated from the Saint Barnabas Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for many years at the former Osteopathic Hospital.

She was a devoted member of St. Pius X Church.

The most important thing in her life was her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a kind heart.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter W. Kelly Jr., in 1989, her daughter, Nancy Kelly, in 1961 and brother, Donald Thurlow, in 1996.

Surviving are her children, Peter W. Kelly III and his wife Mary; Sharon Robbins and her husband James, Mary Pinkham and husband Kenneth, and Patricia Music and husband Andrew, all of Portland; 10 grandchildren, John Kelly, Thomas Kelly, Peter Kelly, Anne Gray, Nancy Harkins, Judy Shields, Paul Music, Jean Robbins, Katherine Music and Allison Music; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was held at 10 a.m., May 20 at St. Pius X Church in Portland.

Memorial donations may be made to VNA Home Health and Hospice, 50 Foden Road, South Portland, ME 04106.
