The city of Portland has scheduled public hearings for the school and city budgets.

On Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall, the City Council’s Finance Committee will receive public comment on the school system’s fiscal 2011 budget followed by discussion of the committee and vote,

Immediately following the Finance Committee meeting, the City Council at 7:30 p.m. will hold a public hearing for the school budget.

On Friday at 11 a.m. the Finance Committee will meet to discuss the municipal 2011 budget and vote.

On Monday, May 3 at 7 p.m., the City Council will hold a public hearing for the municipal budget and vote on the school budget.

The school budget will then be sent to the voters for approval May 11.

The City Council will vote on the municipal budget on May 17.
