Season No. 2 for the Maine Red Claws is shaping up to be as popular as Season No. 1.

The Red Claws released their schedule for the 2010-11 season on Monday; the team will open at home Nov. 19 against the Austin Toros and play 24 total home dates at the Portland Expo.

Tickets for some of those dates may not be available for long. Tickets sales are 10 percent ahead of where they were last year at this time.

The franchise sold out every game in its inaugural season in the NBA Development League. More than 77 percent of season tickets were renewed, and 120 new season ticket holders have been added.

Individual game tickets go on sale in October.

“No one really knew who we were last year at this time. This year it’s a completely different story,” said Jon Jennings, the team’s president and general manager. “It’s really a terrific schedule for us and we get to open at home.”

Jennings said group ticket sales, in particular, have been brisk.

Of the 24 home games, 18 fall on weekend dates, including eight Sunday games.

The D-League teams coming to Portland this year are the: Austin Toros, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Springfield Armor, Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Tulsa 66ers and Iowa Energy.
