Cape Elizabeth High School: For the second consecutive year, a team from Cape Elizabeth won the Maine State High School Mock Trial championship and will compete at the national championship in Albuquerque, N.M., in May. Team members are Max Aronson, Emily Muscat, Claire Muscat, Will McCarthy and Katherine Page, all seniors; Michaela Forde, Josie Barth, Rachel Matusko, Nolan Morris, Chelsey Whynot, Abby Donnelly, Seth Dobieski and Travis DeLano, all juniors; Kevin Hare, Jack Tierney, Dorothy Janick and Brian Taintor, all sophmores. Freshmen Andrew Harrington and Matthew Denison served as clerks of the court/timekeepers. 

Hyde School, Bath: Sagel Prosser of Portland has recently received the Most Improved Learner in English award. 

Kennebunk High School: William Broughton, a 2011 graduate and currently a University of Vermont student, has passed the International Baccalaureate exams and is the only one of more than 200 students to achieve the I.B. diploma. Courses are taken during the junior and senior year of high school. In addition, he has been nominated to represent Maine as a National Honor Scholar and has also received the Presidential Scholarship at UVM along with four additional scholarships. 

Portland Public Schools: The following students were selected by audition to participate in All-State Music Festivals: Dexter Morse from Portland High School, and Nick Thompson-Brown, from Deering High School, were chosen for the Jazz All-State Festival in January; Julia Kang, from Deering, and Gabe Doss, Lucy Bauer and Owen Carten, all from Portland High, will participate in the All-State Band-Orchestra-Chorus Festival in May.
