FARMINGTON — The Maine Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the detonation of an explosive device on a roadway in Farmington.
Steve McCausland from the Maine Department of Public Safety says explosive debris collected by investigators is now being analyzed by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Neighbors heard the explosion Monday night and saw a vehicle leaving the area. No one was hurt, and there was no damage.
Fire marshal investigators were assisted at the scene by the state police bomb team and Farmington police.

FARMINGTON — The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an explosion in Farmington.
No one was reported hurt as a result of the explosion reported after 9 p.m. on Monday.
Police responding to Bailey Hill Road found remains of the device in the road.
A bomb squad was called in and they determined there was no additional threat.
The reported explosion took place near a pasture and there were no homes nearby.
The road was temporarily closed during the investigation.
There are no suspects.
