Police closed Route 1 northbound briefly this morning as firefighters organized to douse a truck fire at Cumberland Farms.
Bath Police officers responded at 8:28 a.m. today after reports that equipment in a truck near gas pumps was on fire, Bath Police Lt. Stan Cielinski said.
Cielinski said the truck apparently installs insulation.
Police closed both lanes of Route 1 “momentarily” while firefighters organized their equipment, then reopened first the traveling lane and then the passing lane.
Fire crews cleared the scene at 9:35 a.m. Details were scarce at press time.
