Chandrakant Petal and his wife Daxa, formerly from India, take their oath of allegiance Friday, March 2, at the Falmouth Elementary School. After repeating the oath, they become the nation’s newest citizens. They were among 37 new citizens from 22 countries who took the oath during the ceremony.

Trial by sea
U.S. Navy Destroyer Michael Murphy, built by Bath Iron Works passes by Doubling Point in Georgetown on Tuesday morning on the way out to sea trials. The Murphy is scheduled to return on Friday morning at the top of the tide, about 11:00 a.m.
