• Marine Corps Pvt. Evan T. Ouellette recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. He is the son of Karen James and Alan Ouellette, both of Cornish.
• The Tibor and Anna Doby Veteran Support Fund at the Maine Community Foundation is seeking applications for grants of up to $25,000 that will support the needs of rural veterans, their families and nonprofit service providers. • The sixth annual Coast Guard Appreciation Dinner will be held beginning at 5:30 p.m. April 27 at the Elks Lodge, 210 Rankin St., Rockland. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the public with advance tickets on sale at Maine Lighthouse Museum, 1 Park Drive, Rockland or at City Hall, 270 Pleasant St., Rockland.
