Eleanor Logan is going back to the Olympics for another shot at gold.

Logan, 24, from Boothbay Harbor, was named to the U.S. women’s eight crew that will row in the London Summer Olympics in July.

She was a member of the 2008 women’s eight team that won the gold medal in Beijing, along with Camden’s Anna Goodale, who retired last year.

Logan, rowing with Erin Cafaro, won a silver medal in pairs at the World Cup in Belgrade, Serbia, and the tandem also won the pairs at the 2012 National Selection Regatta earlier this spring. Those wins qualified both for the Olympics in pairs, but they declined that berth.

Both are now on the women’s eight. In fact, six members of the crew that won gold in Beijing are returning to the women’s eight for London.

Logan was on the women’s eight crew that won the world championships in 2011 and 2010. The U.S. women’s eight is the six-time defending world champion.

Logan graduated from Stanford in 2011.
